Thanksgiving Families

Thanksgiving Families

The Thanksgiving Families Project was a collaborative effort between the Woman’s Service Club of Windham, Windham Helping Hands, and the Windham Fire and Police Departments. The sorting and filling of food boxes for needy families in Windham was completed by volunteers at Searles School and Chapel on Monday, November 20 and Tuesday, November 21.

A heartfelt thank you to the following: American Legion Post 109, BHHS/Verani Realty, and The DiPetro Group Real Estate for their generous donations; Windham Public Schools and Windham Learning Tree Academy who conducted food drives. We’d also like to express our appreciation to students at Windham Woods for volunteering their time, to Windham Terrace residents for their baked goods, to the Kids in Service Club for their colorful gift bags and Daisy Scouts for their beautiful cards. It’s heartwarming to have so many groups in our town participating!

Thank you also to Windham Junction for supporting us with cooked turkey dinners.

Polly Chervincky, Patti Letizio, and Cheryl Haas, who coordinated this project, wish to thank all the volunteers who generously gave their time to help make this project a success!
