On Wednesday, March 4, Windham Police Chief Gerald Lewis, Windham Economic Development Committee Chairman Gary Garfield, Windham School Board Member, Cynthia Finn and WSCW Member Margaret Crisler spoke to the members about what is happening in Windham this year. Chief Lewis noted that the amount of traffic on Route 111 and Route 93 present the greatest challenges to the Windham Police Department. There are currently two School Resource Officers who work closely with school personnel. Chairman Gary Garfield explained the warrant article that asks Windham voters to approve a proposed bond for $9.5 million to extend a public water line along Route 111 to Ledge Road. He cited contaminants in the groundwater at key locations along Route 111 and hopes to encourage new economic development. Cynthia Finn spoke of the successful building projects at Golden Brook School and Middle School. She encouraged members to support the school district budget and the raises for support personnel.
